  • Cost of Being Social on Halloween

    By Andrea Menzies 09/30/2026

The most true thing on the web right now is people admitting how much they miss having enough money to go out. Gas, cover charge, parking, dinner it all has massively increased to impossible amounts of expensive. I used to go out in Texas with 20 dollars, and come back home with most of it in tact after seeing a concert. Men claim on websites they will pay for dates and never show up, and so you can only go out when you have extra cash yourself. My phone used to be lit up like a Christmas tree before I moved to the toilet known as Virginia. It is particularly annoying as Halloween has great concerts finally headed near here, and all of it looks expensive as a nightmare. No haunted house costume with a chainsaw looks as scary as the prices to get gas for the trip to the haunted house. #scaryhalloweenprices

  • Birthday Lunch

    By Andrea Menzies 09/24/26

Happy Birthday to Alexandria Menzies who I went to Octoberfest and Jason’s Deli for birthday party lunch. It was particularly important for Anne to have a nice day before she had to go into the hospital. We ended up not staying at the Octoberfest as the vendor prices and nasty food were horrible. It reminded me that every cell in my body hates the downtown area of Richmond, Virginia. My review is that all of Virginia rates one star for having horrible music and food. I still love seeing music and eating, but going on road trips to other states is the one way to be near anything good.

  • More On Closing

    By Andrea Menzies 09/10/26

Pretty much true of downtown music scenes everywhere. Parking, gas for travel, cabs, dinner, and seeing a bands used to cost less than $20 a night. Now at far greater rates than pay has risen every part of downtown across the USA is a con-artist crime pit. I now know why Europe has raves in warehouses not music venues as music venues can be attacked out of existence by government regulations. Yes you can meet bad people at clubs, but you could also meet them at grocery stores or libraries. Are they ALL going to be witch hunted next?

  • Happy Star Trek Day

    By Andrea Menzies 09/08/2026

Happy Star Trek Day to All!

Star Trek the TV show had the first episode aired on September 8, 1966. In El Paso, TX where I lived as a kid the show was on all the time. I didn’t know until later-on that Gene Roddenberry the creator was from El Paso and used to shop at the mall by my house. This is why I still have Star Trek dolls around my room to this day.

*Note: I was just rewatching the Heroes TV show and noticed how many Star Trek characters were in Heroes including George Takei. Strange how some people have the career of 50 people.

  • Episode 6 Season 1 – The Unofficial Pokemon Go Field Guide vs Palworld

    By Andrea Menzies 07/21/26

The Unofficial Pokemon Go Field Guide by Ivy St. Ive

Note: FH7 Publishing does not just do book reviews, but reviews of games based on books. Pokemon is a game that has books and comic books associated with the product.

This month every person who plays video games has one soap opera question on their mind, and it is what the heck happened with Palworld and Pokemon’s Nintendo? Nintendo has beautiful art and games it has made, and it sued another company for making a game called Palworld like their games. Can they do this? There is a phrase that fits the issue at hand, and that is the legal phrase “fair use” in art. The famous author Immanuel Kant once famously said. “The dilemma of postmodernism is that all art is collage.” This means all art has a bit of other art in it, and we are all standing tall on the shoulders of giants. How much can one work of art look like another before it is just basic copying? Fair use is defined as the following idea. “Reasonable and limited use of copyrighted material so as not to infringe upon copyright.” (Dictionary.com, 2026). I find this interesting because when I first posted a few of my favorite pictures and drawings online in blogs, internet trolls said “that is not yours” if it looked anything like another drawing. If you make it with different paint and changes to it YES, it is your own work even if it is styled like another drawing. Art has stylized techniques used frequently, and very untalented people like to put artists down saying their art is basic copies. This month Palworld won the lawsuit against Nintendo, and video game fans rejoice at being free to play the version they like best.

  • Season 1 Episode 5 – Campaign Against Facebook

    By Andrea E. Menzies 07/14/26

Season 1 Episode 5 – Campaign Against Facebook

A podcast book review on The Campaign Against Facebook a book about the many huge lawsuits against the Internet giant. Here are just some of the Facebook lawsuits addressed inside.

    1. Facebook is giving con-artists the information to popular pages.
    2. Taking money to post advertisements, and shutting off accounts when there have been no violations. Never refunding the advertisement money.
    3. Doing experiments with false posts on Facebook with no authorization from users.
    4. Selling the information on underaged kids.
    5. Posting “by mistake” fake news information that wins elections.

This episode addresses the 2012 and 2014 Facebook Emotional Contagion Study and the related lawsuit.

Note that in my class this semester we studied the Facebook Emotional Contagion Study conducted in 2012. Facebook conducted a study on hundreds of thousands of people with no consent. It was found guilty of this in court. It claims fake news that changes election results is a mistake, but practiced manipulation willfully right before-hand of the same type.
