Funny (and scary) Facebook Moment of the Week: Facebook Dating Debate
Andrea E. Menzies Your aunts and mom are on Facebook, and a guy attached to your Facebook decides to post revenge porn when you dump him…
Eric Leger Yet another reason to not friend coworkers lol
Kelly-Rose Kleinman Posting porn without someone’s consent online is illegal and can be prosecuted in a court of law.
Rob Lloyd I would not put it past some people to post revenge porn and not care about the consequences.
Porn or no porn, it’s just awkward. My family only gets to meet the people I really like. With FB mingling friends, family, and people you’ve just met just for a coffee date, things could get awkward.
Eric Leger Rob Lloyd exactly. Punitive actions afterwards are great but it doesn’t unring the bell.
Kelly-Rose Kleinman Oh I know, it’s happened personally to me. 😥
Andrea E. Menzies to Rob Lloyd Oh so true, and the dating app will make it much worse I fear.
Andrea E. Menzies Sorry to hear about your issue Kelly. As a female I understand society can be cruel and harsh about such things. The male musician Mick Jagger wrote in a tell all biography that he slept with 5000 women in the 1970s, and I don’t see him walking around in the poor house with no money.
Andrea E. Menzies It is not great to be judgmental on any gender person’s private life, but in our society it seems like women get a double helping.
Andrea E. Menzies I made two profiles on an environmental website years ago, one for myself and one for a male cartoon character I liked as a “fan fiction” profile. I abandoned them, and did not use them for a couple of years. I logged in to them last week, and the male one made at the same time with the same passwords was untouched. My personal female profile had been hacked, and covered with porn links. I am not a porn worker, and have never been a stripper or porn worker. I wonder how many other old web pages I have used have been hacked, and are making my past far more interesting than it ever actually was. Hackers could photo shop into being trashy drug and sex photos that were NEVER taken in real life. Girls have all the persecution of porn, and get NO money out of it! With all the information on Facebook dating and profile scammers will have MORE information to work with to destroy a person as blackmail.
Brent Stubbs Andrea E. Menzies I am sorry that is horrible, but it is funny how terrible the world is and they have to hack you instead of just create one themselves.
Andrea E. Menzies I guess porn sells better if guys think girls they know are in it.
Problem is if every single person starts using Facebook dating… Everyone else will HAVE to use it or they will get no matches with online dating. All the safer dating apps will be empty.
