  • Kid Work

Before teaching Kindergarten I used to struggle to get 10 thousand steps a day. Now I hit 14 thousand steps before I even hit the gym. Kids are hard work.

  • The Planet’s Return

The Planet’s Return! I decided to return to Planet Fitness gym this week. It may have issues, but it was not as expensive as the money grubbing gyms I have been dealing with as an alternative. National chain gyms are great for road trips in RVs or traveling vans as you can shower at the gym as you travel minimizing the need for expensive hotel showers. I dream daily of leaving Virginia in an RV as I dislike my family moving to this area. I am a bit concerned that it has anti-crime logos everywhere as Planet Fitness gyms in Texas did NOT do that, and it hints at need for concern.

  • Strange but True

Strange but true right as my brother was visiting this week from out of town Facebook brought up an old photo of us as kids in the memories section. I am the kid in the middle, and on the far right is my sister Lily.

  • Spring Break

This week has been Spring Break at my job. I sort of wished I had gone on a road trip this week, but staying home and relaxing has some good points as well.

  • Changing Charmed

Watching Charmed the TV show when I was younger it seemed realistic. Now as a person who has lived in and near San Francisco I realize no three 20 year olds could afford a house that big. The lightning bolts, witch powers, and freezing time all seem realistic compared to the epic untruths inherent to the idea that three kids just over 18 could live alone in a huge house in downtown California. The girls in the show date 50 guys a month as no relatives, friends, or coworkers care at all. No one is stuck watching babies, or cleaning a house. Family fights last two seconds and blow over. By the end they own a music night club, and wear new clothes every episode as they barely show up to work. Forget the magic it is the frame tale that lacks any root at all in the real world. I found myself angry as I watched it, and couldn’t figure out why. Then I noticed I forgot this show was one big bull-bucket of lies told to young single women about ideal life.

  • Birthday Massacre Norfolk Photos

I managed to catch the Norfolk show for Birthday Massacre at Elevation 27 club. The light show and sound system was amazing. 🤩 It made me want to visit Norfolk far more often. I got a hotel in town to avoid the traffic driving back. I was so happy to see live music again the band could have come out and kicked me in the head, and I still would have loved it. Seeing a really great new album performance was an extra bonus!

  • Phone Jokes

One thing phone shopping lately has shown me is that phones have changed a lot since I was a kid. Sometimes nothing beats the feel of a vintage phone. This joke has a point, and so I made a censored version where we can all imagine they are saying freaking.

  • Phone Change

The Sprint T-Mobile merger jacked my phone bill sky high. I am now shopping for a new phone. Friends may need to ask for my new phone number soon. I will keep two phones active for a while for the switch over.
