  • Hulu Shows

I admit I renewed my Hulu subscription just for the comedy What We Do In Shadows showing new episodes this week. My review is it is hilarious. After the 90s bombarded us with vampire media it is funny to poke fun at the concept. Real monsters don’t go to high school 100 times and sparkle Twilight.

Why ex-boyfriends are a bad source of information about women this week.

  • Bad Weekend

Every weekend I go out in Richmond, VA I am horrified and disgusted by how horrible people are on average compared to New Orleans and Austin where I lived for years. Last weekend I went out in Richmond and it was the most horrible night ever, and reminded me why I am always saving up for road trips far away. I hate Richmond, Virginia with all my soul. #Virginia Is For Nightmares

  • Music Time

As I am not going on long road trips I am focusing on local concert road trips this summer break. Message me with recommendations. It is my new rule to only stay in my own vehicle or a hotel when traveling, and so I would like no house guest offers please.

  • Travel Trouble

I am super glad I cancelled my summer road trip plans. I was almost driving in this storm.

  • Travel Cancelled

I am not leaving town this summer break. The friend that said I could stay on their sofa in New Orleans turned into a mega sewage bag, and demanded triple money and free car rides. My car broke down. Then my teaching job did not pay me for several days of work I did on my check. This made me cancel my visit. A fall visit in October would be a far better plan anyway, and would make my summer more restful. The friend and dating river is filled with manipulative sewage, and I am not playing that game. This is reason number one million I am fixing up a travel RV as “you can stay on my sofa” is often code for “I plan to rip you off” in travel conversations.

  • Memorial Day Memory

This year marks the anniversary of the death of my father lieutenant colonel Neil Menzies from his war wounds in Vietnam and Korea. He was in the Army, and he died of his combat wounds when I was 4 years old. He is wearing his uniform in this photo, and I am the baby. My mother’s father also died of combat due to a plane bombing over Japan in WW2 and so the women in my family are many generations of war widows. Memorial Day is always a sad day for us yearly.
