  • Almost Birthday

    Almost Birthday

    By Andrea Menzies

The temporary work I got with Kelly Staffing was over faster than I thought, and now I am back to teaching again. I forgot one of the reasons I quit pursuing temp work employment is they often promise far more employment time and money than they can deliver to employees. It is almost my birthday, and having free time to plan a good party with balloons turns out to be the most valuable use of my time. I did make some extra money from the job, and now I can go to extra Halloween activities far from the horrible place that is called Virginia. It is my every dream and goal to move far away from the Virginia area.

  • New Job

    New Job

    By Andrea Menzies

I got a new job plus started this week! I already have a medical assisting certification with Excel and typing from years ago, and was taking light refresher courses in that subject online. In addition I have a University degree, and employment services verified both this month and got me a new job. My other job was not giving me enough work or hours, and I was glad for the upgrade. The job economy is really rough right now, but there are still a few opportunities out there particularly in healthcare jobs. I am so happy the change worked out.

    • Note: I have been applying and reapplying for this same kind of job for YEARS in Virginia, and it is officially weird that they picked now to notice my application. Oh well better late than never.
  • Month 3

    By Andrea Menzies

This week I had a fight with teacher HR as it marks the 3rd month I had no pay at all. My daughter has a birthday this week I had to borrow gift money. I have been working for days since August, and they are not going to pay me until October 1st. They did not answer my first 8 emails or calls. They do not do this to permanent teachers, and it is just one of the nightmares they inflict on subs. I officially put in applications for hundreds of jobs after getting off the phone. Some jobs pay you weekly, and this one pays you if and when they feel like it maybe someday. How can you pay rent with that? When they did this stuff around the time of the pandemic they had an excuse, but they are still doing it yet they don’t have an excuse anymore.

  • Saving For Moving

    Saving For Moving

    By Andrea Menzies

I am still saving my change in the piggy bank for a move far from Virginia. I managed to switch away from the horrible job assignment I worked at Bird High where a kid was bleeding all over his desk, and they refused to report it or move him. I managed not to get hit by ear blood, but it was a near miss. I had just freshly watched the blood-born pathogen video. One of the reasons they make teachers watch it every year is because blood is an issue in classrooms, and even smart co-workers have made mistakes with it. The whole thing makes me want to move very far from Virginia. I never had issues with co-workers refusing to obey regulations in Texas schools when I taught there for years. Every tiny thing is a living nightmare for me since I was dragged to the state I hate called Virginia. I should have never let my family talk me into the move it has been a horrible experience every day.

  • No Breaks

    No Breaks

    By Andrea Menzies

I was given one lunch break in a week of work this week teaching at Bird High. I had to file a supervisor complaint as a co-worker locked up my bag with no permission while giving me no breaks. In addition I was sick with an intestinal infection and asthma, and badly needed prescription medicines that needed to be taken with food to be able to work. It was in the locked away bag. I had none of it when needed. My co-worker was nurse Rachet from the Cuckoo’s Nest movie. I am transferring as of this week. This is why I am constantly applying to jobs far away from this area of Virginia, and am planning to move far away. The many sadistic people are very imaginative, and given total power without supervision.

  • County Fair

    County Fair

It is almost county fair time here in Chesterfield. One good thing about the area I am in is the fair with rides and music is only a 30 minute bike ride away from my house.

  • Video Chant

    Video Chant

    By Andrea Menzies

You know you have been teaching for a long time when the videos about classroom blood born pathogen warnings start to have dialogue you can recite and chant along with while watching. I can say the end of the video’s sentence before the video even says it. At least it helps me make all A grades on the quizzes at the end.

Thank you Cougar Town for mentioning older men are hard to date, and it is not always the women’s fault when they end up older in age and single. This week I am watching Cougar Town the TV show streaming on Hulu and other vintage TV. It is LOL level funny how some people think only 21 year old people date, go out, or listen to live music. This has never been less true in the modern day. It is pretty funny, and I give it five out of five stars.

Your weekly message from the no jerk’s club I will never meet a man alone at his house from Internet dating. I just re-joined online dating, and am shocked how many guys think women will meet them alone in places that are not crowded and well lit for a first meeting. In fact not one wanted to meet for dinner. Not only could the guy be not as hot as his photos, but he could have an axe to chase you around with Friday The 13th style as he is a psycho. I would like to stay single and alive instead. People wonder how women over 35 end up single older women, but look what we have to choose from with single men! The worst online dating and singles nights I have ever seen with the most pathetic men to talk to have all been in the Virginia area.

  • Move Planned

    Move Planned

    By Andrea Menzies

My daughter Alexandria refuses to move away from Virginia as of this month. I am therefore going to move to an area around Maryland near DC, and will never return to Texas or New Orleans. I cannot stand the Richmond area, but don’t want to move so far from my family I can’t visit. I have begged my family a million times at this point to move with me away from the Richmond, VA area. My sister Lily moved here and forced others to follow. It has been a fully disgusting experience moving to the area around the city of Richmond. I needed many surgeries right before I first moved to town, and had a bad divorce. The military was no other thing than a criminal assault pit done to me. I then recovered to better health. This gave many of the area people the wrong first impression that I have been sick and alone my entire life. I was a high school honors student, with many degrees, and was used to friendship before Virginia. Everywhere I turn I experience nothing but social bullying in this area of Virginia. I cannot stand it in this horrible place any longer, and am moving to the Maryland area this year. Every good concert goes to Maryland as musicians have learned to fear  lack of payment in Virginia. The Chesterfield and Richmond areas treat teachers like complete garbage, and the job market is MUCH better in other towns. Trying to recover from an illness and divorce in an area with bad music and a horrible economy has been a nightmare. I always had it in the back of my mind that I was going back to Texas or New Orleans. Now that my daughter refuses to move I cannot move that far away, and am moving to a new area close by the state border. I have not come to the decision lightly. My review of the area of Richmond is that it is horrible, and I give it one star. The rest of my life I will tell people to avoid it.
