    Back To Bike

    By Andrea Menzies

At long last I can bike again, and biked a three mile ride. I am going to keep Pine Sol and hand sanitizer on me every second of the day this summer as I do NOT want to deal with that crap one more time. I had a flu shot at Walgreens just before summer, but that helped nothing at all. I labeled my first return ride the feeling better ride, and it is way better to not feel horribly sick. Now if I could just do something about not having a date, boyfriend, or even a kiss on the face in three years as of this month which I completely hate some real problems could get solved. I went to Planned Parenthood recently,  and all tests showed I was healthy and fine. I guess I have to go to towns with a real music scene to meet people which this state has none of at all.

  • Irony Bike

    By Andrea Menzies

I finally got money for an ebike, and ordered the dream ebike! I ordered it, but cannot ride it due to being sick. I feel like the man in the Twilight Zone episode with broken glasses that cannot read in a library. I even bought new tail lights, and a bike Garmin and Sunny heart monitor for it. Not only do I want more fitness experience, but the ebike is useful as gas free transportation. Bikes do not cause joint damage like jogging, and studies show bike use prevents cancer and heart disease. I love camping, and it fits in an RV better than a big non-folding bike. Every entertainment district is making car parking costs what feels emotional like 1 million dollars, and a good ebike can cut down on parking and Uber fees so that I can go to music concerts more without using a car near downtown. I have had the picture of this bike on my wall for months. Buying it now helps me avoid nightmare tariffs and fees. At University in New Orleans I used to bus and bike everywhere to see concerts. The bike is so close but so far away!

Garmin badge I earned testing the bicycle Garmin.
Bicycle Garmin for tracking app fitness.

    Light for increased bicycle visibility.

Sunny heart rate monitor to keep fitness from being overwhelming.
  • Super Sick

    By Andrea Menzies

So sick with bronchitis. I finally got a doctor’s prescription for antibiotics as the first doctor refused to prescribe them leaving me in agony days longer. So many doctors are afraid to over prescribe antibiotics they now don’t even properly prescribe antibiotics without a battle. My podcast usually starts up again in summer reviewing books, but I am too sick to even read right now. It will be on hiatus longer.

  • Assemblage 23

    By Andrea Menzies

I made it to the Assemblage 23 show at Renegade in the DC area. Unfortunately I bought the ticket online, and it deducted money from my bank. Then NEVER sent me a Google ticket or email ticket so the venue refused to let me inside without buying a fresh ticket. When VNV played Silver Springs it was a FAR better show in every respect. Whenever a good show goes to Virginia they manage to destroy it. They have zoning ordinances out of a Footloose movie. However I still enjoyed the songs I heard, and my review is it was a good show.

    Pre-Party Graduation

    By Andrea Menzies

I am at a graduation pre-party for Alexandria Menzies in Fredericksburg, VA today. We went to Cracker Barrel and Quality Inn. Cracker Barrel is really giving away free onion fries if you download the app and start an account at dinner. We ate some, and it was great.

    2025 Eugene at Poe Museum

    By Andrea Menzies

One of my favorite friends Eugene or Zorak303 on Instagram that I went to school with in New Orleans visited Richmond this weekend. We went to the Poe Museum, Panera Bread, Magdalena Bay at The National, and Gwar Bar taco restaurant. Here are some Poe Museum and Panera Bread highlights.

  • 2025 Trip To DC To Protest Healthcare Funding Cuts

2025 Trip To DC To Protest Healthcare Funding Cuts

    By Andrea Menzies

I went to Washington DC to protest healthcare cuts, and join future political protesting. America is not “left wing” or “right wing” now it is “Clown Car On Fire Wing” metaphorically speaking. The media says Americans are not protesting, but they are just not covering much of it. I hate Trump’s government. It is crushing women’s healthcare back to medieval times and this is why I am joining the Feminist Alliance Women’s March. American people must use our rights to protest before they are taken away. I stayed in hotels and traveled hours as I also wanted to see more peak bloom cherry trees, and panda bears at the zoo in addition to protest. However I got COVID right before traveling, and I have had asthma since birth so it destroyed my right to political protesting in many ways. This will not be my last try at protest and travel. I have hated Richmond, VA with every ounce of my soul since the year I stepped foot here as the town only has raping, beating, ugly, and abusive men to date. I had many long term relationships in other towns, and the lack of companionship is agony. Now I have even more reasons to leave for political protesting needs. As the photos prove I will travel hours to escape the nightmare happening in the world around me.

  • 2025 New Bike Rack

    2025 New Bike Rack

    By Andrea Menzies

I got a new bicycle rack this weekend for bike camping in DC. I have collected toy panda bears since I was a little kid, and at long last real ones are nearby at the Zoo. I’d better see them quickly before some weird political fight sends them away again for good. I also plan to bring one million gallons of anti mosquito lights, nets, and spray because yes I have camped in Virginia before and they have the “no see them” near-invisible breed of mosquito.

  • First Month Phoenix

    First Month Phoenix

    By Andrea Menzies

I made all A grades in my first month as a University of Phoenix Master’s Degree student in the Masters of Education program. I have been planning on enrolling for years, but my student loans were blocked. Also it is intimidating going to school as an adult, and juggling my teaching day job with night school. This is why I went to online school as it is organized well for working adults. Thankfully, the conflict is resolved and school is going well this month. I enjoy having real challenges for the year.

P.S. : There will be no podcast this week due to massive homework exhaustion. The final exam all nighters have been epic.

  • School Placement

    School Placement

    By Andrea Menzies

I am so glad the hiring event I went to today confirmed I am able to get a school job placement in other towns. The night school program I am taking has jobs in far away towns on the border of Virginia and other states so I can get out of this horror toilet state for road trips on the weekends. All the Valentine’s Day store items make me hate Richmond more completely. I used to enjoy weekend dating when I was younger, but in Richmond, VA I have only met the most disgusting abusive human sewage I have ever seen in my life. The pathetic night life makes meeting people impossible. The loneliness of this pain pit is indescribable agony.
