  • Yes.Fit Award

    Yes.Fit Award

    By Andrea Menzies

I just won an award for completing a Yes.Fit challenge! It was Pirate Plunder, and I am sure I will love wearing the Pirate shirt that brags I completed a 26 mile journey online. As a long-term Fitbit user I liked counting steps and bike pedals, but disliked finishing the apps normal games. I am not alone, and many users like adding Yes.Fit and other online races where you are chased by other Fitbit users, pirates, werewolves, and thousands of creatures as you count steps, or move the counter to your foot for bike trips. You can even use Google fit on your phone if you don’t have a step counter.

If you would like to run against me online I post the challenge codes here to my group team Forever Halloween Club:

Pokemon Go Meetup Day April 20

Pokemon Go Meetup Day April 20

Wow today’s meetup group I went to had over 80 members for events, raids, and raffles in the park! They even had ice cream vans AND taco tables by the football game. One section I was in is for grownup people, but another section is for Pokemon Go fan kids as well. Downtown Richmond nightlife is filled with crime and violence the last few years, and so I need downtown alternatives. Pokemon Go makes a lot more sense in pretty weather like today. I had a bad cold last week, but was better by the weekend. I lost my gym membership, but with weather like today all you need is tennis shoes to work up a sweat. Lucky me my bike still works great for Spring Events.

Ice Cream Vans did not manage to destroy my diet today due to long lines.

  • Marked Safe

Marked Safe! Whenever I see the Media make a huge deal out of a trivia fact I wonder what huge  scandal a PR firm was hired to cover-up?

  • Reality Ahead

Oh so true. Spring Break is flying by for me, and Monday will be a shock for sure.

  • Best Video

    Best Video

    By Andrea Menzies

This is my best video from the VNV Nation Electric Sun Tour concert. If you are anywhere near this tour you must go! They are a staple at Goth clubs in Seattle, but are Top 40 on radio overseas. Ronan Harris the lead singer got his eye hurt by a bright video light before this clip. He cussed at the video person. Then Ronan said. “Sorry but I am Irish and for us cussing is like punctuation!” I am from an Irish family too, and I can verify that this is freaking true. Sorry for the image quality but I was energetically dancing with joy the entire show. My legs are so sore it was like a million aerobic classes in one night, but so worth it. I love Silver Springs, MD and want to move there the show was so good.

I made it to the VNV Nation concert! It is spring break for the school I teach at, and so I have been visiting friends in the Maryland area so I saw it at The Fillmore Silver Springs, MD. More pictures tomorrow!

  • Away Week

    By Andrea Menzies

Any week where I get time away from Virginia is a good week. I have hated Virginia with all my soul, and am saving every penny with extra jobs to move away from the sewage pit.

  • Not Rare

    By Andrea Menzies

Many teachers are working as teachers and bus drivers in Virginia, and it is not rare. Here is a good article on the topic. Note the person interviewed for the article must be a supervisor, and not a normal teacher. They make WAY more than me.
