This week I am obsessed with the Palia game on Steam. All of the apps named Discord and Twitch are obsessed with it so I wanted to understand the hype. Palia is a game which somehow manages to have the good parts of many other top ranking MMO games while having none of the problems. It fully mimics World of Warcraft at many sections so I will compare and contrast it with a Warcraft book for a video-game and book-review video this week.

This week on Twitch someone said. “Oh you have the online name Poe Daughter you must love Poe from Kung-Fu Panda. No, the origin is from the movie Beetlejuice, there is a line in the movie where he says the following about Lydia. “The only one I think I can deal with is Edgar Allan Poe’s daughter over there.” I have photos of the DVD playing with subtitles saying the phrase. It was a sentence about both Edgar Poe and Tim Burton in ONE picture, and so it had extra spooky credit. That was what I liked as a kid when I picked an online name for video games. That is the real origin, but the Panda movie is not bad just a strange coincidence. Online names are an odd personality test. #onlinenames

My Twitch ID has changed. The Twitch drops for games got better. I am now Poedaughter with nothing after it. Not Poedaughter7, or PoedaughterFH7, or Poedaughter777 those are old accounts I don’t get into anymore. Now that it has finally let me into my normal account again I will resume playing video games on there. I was hating Twitch as it locked me out of my account, but now the game rewards have brought me back.

Note: Hi there podcast fans! It is time for the weekly podcast. I am Andrea Menzies, and I have done many book review podcasts online. This week we were able to do a Podcast for extra credit in one of my classes at University night school. We can write a paper, read it as a podcast, and it counts for a grade. I love this idea, and it is my weekly podcast this week. I am doing this now using OBS software and using my computer. Be prepared to be amazed at how much I know about item analysis for test questions, and the definition of both formative and summative evaluation. So much reading aloud of APA citation you can hardly believe it! #2026ClassPodcast

My mom is feeling better, and has returned home. Many thanks to the friends and family that helped me watch her house and dogs while she was gone in the hospital. #feelinbetter

I really hope the real Myspace makes a comeback. ABC news said they were back in a story. In fact I never quit using Livejournal. Algorithm free online posting was a far better way to read people’s posts online. There is a Boondocks show episode where a musician wants to have fans over for a party, and a kid posts it to Myspace. A huge party packed with people afterwards results. People forget online posting was fun once. #myspacereturn
In theory algorithms were going to show you the top posts of your friends and family. They would weed out the spamming they claimed. Instead they doubled the spam posts, and hid the friends posts. Net trolls and hate mongers thrive in algorithms. Nothing has stepped up to fill the void of old Facebook as new FB is non-stop spam daily and Instagram is only a Facebook clone.
I remember that Myspace had issues as well. People would fight about friends in the top 8 list. Users would make a Myspace they never updated, and dead people still had profiles up. People married with 4 kids had a Myspace up that said single from high school. If Myspace makes a comeback it needs to delete inactive profiles this time around. #inactivedelete

New Black and Purple House – how to make the beach spooky at Heartopia. Anyone can make a Halloween game dark and artsy, but it is a challenge to make the cutie games moody and dark! I am not the one person doing this task. I have seen 8 scary cathedral houses today, and they have the best prizes at the prize doors. I am glad I found a game as hypnotic as Heartopia right as my family is having issues so I can keep from dwelling on the stressful and negative.
