There is not a person alive who does not wish they could live on vacation in New York, Hawaii, or Paris or another place forever. We all survive making do with what there is here and now. I have had to battle to understand this today.

Toy RV
I do plan to buy the Walking Dead toy RV from AMC. Unfortunately I am not going to be on the TV show as an extra even as I applied for work on it. It turns out The Walking Dead show wants a strange combo of perfect health so that you can work 12 hour days on your feet, and perfect free time for filming for a month. I figured it would be a few days but a month? If you are so healthy you can work 12 hour days wouldn’t you be BUSY most days already? As a single mother who works and goes to college night school I know not of this “free time” which they speak of. If anyone else in the area does get hired let me know, and I will cheer on your part.

The Writer’s Journey
I write poetry and short stories, and this is a great book for any type of writer. The main focus is on Screenwriters with Hollywood dreams. However poetry often tells emotional stories, and short stories use all the Mythic Structure rules. It keeps the writer motivated to keep publishing, and helps people get out of writer’s block issues by giving them new plot points to explore when stuck. A friend said I should read this book when I was on a visit to Texas from Virginia, and they were not wrong.

The Song
The band Avail performs a song of frustration with Richmond, VA. They are ironically performing to a packed sold-out show in Richmond on Friday! I’ll make it anywhere but here in Richmond, VA, but here is where I’ve got to be the song screams. I am not the first person to voice frustration with Virginia. When I am frustrated it is strange, and when a bunch of pale men do it the album is a national top seller. The irony of this moment: You hate Virginia! We do too! Take all our money!

Road Trips
My need for a road trip out of Virginia is now Ocean Sized.
There are real facts making me hate Virginia. Richmond is the town next to the military base where in 2005 I was raped, beaten, and denied medical care for a heart murmur. I have constantly been reminded of the most horrible part of my life in Virginia. My family refuses to move away. Just because I am making the best of a bad situation does not mean I am not in a horrible and bad situation.
When my mom first suckered me into going to Virginia we were only going to stay a year or two to help my sister with her divorce. Just to help a little with the kids. This week they are making plans to stay years longer and send Alexandria to University in Virginia, and I am not taking the news well. I had dreamed of having Alexandria go to school far from Virginia, and going with her.

This Town
2019 I Hate Virginia – I hate Virginia with every ounce of my soul. The hate comes when it is the weekend in a town with NOTHING to do. Concerts are like 5 people around a bar, and not as good as Austin, TX at all. My hatred of Virginia grows more ocean sized by the day. My every daily dream is road trips out of here to see real towns with men who are not abusive.

Andrea E. Menzies Yes in other towns I lived in when I was feeling low I had plenty of school friends around to hang out with and talk with daily. Here I have no High School or University friends ANYWHERE. I am mad my family suckered me into moving here.
