  • Biden Changes Sexual Assault Laws 2023

    When I was a 92A rank E4 in the Army I was sexually assaulted. A tactic constantly used by abusers is to say the victim was “bad” and “immoral” and “deserved” pain to discredit the witness. I am single now in part because I will never date a military man due to the insomnia and constant nightmares from trauma. I am glad to see the NPR article saying they are changing the laws, but sad to see it had to reach 1 in 5 training women being violated before they did something real. Better late than never, but still very late. The old system was like putting a bunch of talking foxes in charge of a henhouse, and agreeing with their story that blood and chicken feathers were on their face by mistake.     A great article on e-bikes and the environment. I have had e-bikes before, and am getting a new one soon. Amazon has many bike to e-bike conversion kits that are amazing. I am a person who has had asthma since I was a kid so the air pollution scares me. 5 dollar gas some years is scary, and backup plans are needed more often by the year.

  • Bike News

    I got a new bike of the kind they allow on the Amtrak, and Washington DC subway. It is part of my commitment to never go out in downtown Richmond at night ever again. If I go out it will be at least a town AWAY from Richmond. My every weekend in Richmond has been a horrible nightmare, but when I travel I have GREAT times. Plus Pokemon is a breeze on bicycle wheels. I have met many nice co-workers at lunch meetings in Virginia, but for some reason a strange ugliness descends upon Virginia at sunset that I have not seen in other towns I have lived in as a resident. I plan to forever avoid it from now on. Lucky the state line to other areas is only a hundred miles away, and I will plan to escape there often on weekends.

    My phone is back on. Call me when you need to talk. These days it is hard to survive without a smartphone. It is like missing half the world.
